NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Netflix has revealed the preliminary streaming numbers for their high profile crime drama “The Irishman.” According to a statement from the company, 26,404,081 Netflix accounts worldwide watched at least some of the 3-hour mob epic within its first seven days on the streaming service.

Netflix’s chief of content Joel Flint added that the streaming service expects a total of 40 million households will watch the film in its first month.

“The Irishman” which was the latest film from legendary director Martin Scorses, stars some of his favorite players, including Robert Deniro, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel, who have all appeared in previous Scorsese movies, along with Al Pacino.

Netflix’s streaming figures don’t include a count of the people who viewed the movie in its short, limited theatrical run and are comparable with the number of streams for Netflix’s viral horror hit “Bird Box” in 2018.

The official numbers from Netflix also follow the release last week of audience estimates published by Nielsen last week, which said 13.2 million watched the film in its first five days.
