BANGKOK, Thailand (CelebrityAccess) — Universal Music Thailand announced it has partnered with Thai music company IAMRecords for the launch and global signing of Thai girl group Lyra.
At debut, Lyra’s official lineup includes Pun, Jennis, Noey, Fond, Niky, who were all selected after a year-long process selection process of candidates culled from the 78 members of IAMRecords’ popular girl group BNK48.
All members of Lyra also attended an intensive music camp from May to June this year where they worked with some of Thailand’s leading producers, choreographers and stylists to perfect the group’s aesthetic.
“It has been a great journey working with Universal Music Group (Thailand) on this joint venture. Both companies are respectful for each other strengths and together we are stronger. I am also very proud to see our Artists transformed into LYRA, the hard work that they and our team has put in over the past year has paid off,” said Nattapol Bawornwatana, COO, Independent Artist Management/IAM Records.
Thai artist management company and label IAM is home to the Asian nation’s most popular girl idol group BNK48, which fields an impressive 78 members. IAM’s official YouTube channel has accumulated more than 1.4 million subscribers and has racked up more than 1.2 Billion video views, since it launched in 2013.
