(CelebrityAccess) — Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine will reportedly pay his former manager Corey Brennan’s company, Five B Artist Management, more than a million dollars to settle a lawsuit that claimed Brennan was owed commissions for touring and merch.
According to a legal filing on Wednesday, first reported by Billboard, Mustaine will pay $1.4 million, including $35,000 to Brennan personally, to settle the suit, which Brennan launched after he claims he was fired by Mustaine.
Brennan’s legal team advanced the theory that Mustaine fired him to pave the way for Mustaine’s son to take on management of the veteran rock icon, Billboard reported.
The settlement does not cover a countersuit filed by Mutstaine against Brennan, alleging “repeated management failures” that had a lasting impact on Megadeth’s reputation and Mustaine’s health. The countersuit is still undergoing litigation.
Brennan and 5B filed the suit in June 2023, alleging that he and 5B had been terminated without cause.
