(CelebrityAccess) — Julian Spear, a noted British music executive, died on Monday at the age of 74 after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
His passing was announced on social media by his wife, actor Carol Royale, who revealed that Spear died after jumping into an outdoor pool he believed to be heated, but which was not.
“I am desperately sorry to post that we lost my wonderful husband, Julian Spear, today, 9th December,” Royale wrote. “Perfectly fit man but jumped into a freezing pool, which he assumed was heated as per usual yesterday, and he developed a sudden massive brain haemorrhage—our hearts are aching. Forgive me if I am not on Facebook very much for a while x.”
Spear was the founder and owner of Julian Spear PR and held prominent promotions roles at multiple record labels, including A&M Records, where he served as Senior Director of Promotions, and Phonogram Records, where he held a similar position.
Spear is survived by Royale and their two children.
