NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The MTV Video Music Awards are heading back to its original home of New York this summer.
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 28 at New York's Madison Square Garden, the first time that the event has been held at the iconic venue in the show's 33-year history.
The VMAs originally debuted in New York at Radio City Music Hall in 1984, but has often been held in Los Angeles since then.
"The VMAs deliver some of pop culture's most defining moments and we're grateful to our New York home and Madison Square Garden for rolling out the red carpet for what is sure to be the biggest night in music,” Sean Atkins, president of MTV, said in a statement. – Staff Writers
