AEG Joins The Fray To Operate London's Olympic Stadium

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG is among a list of 106 bidders throwing their hats in the ring for a shot at managing London's Olympic Stadium after the completion of the 2012 games.

The 80,000 seat stadium is a monster and would give AEG with a solid challenger for nearby Wembley Stadium, managed by AEG rival Live Nation.

"AEG is hugely excited about the fast approaching London 2012 Olympic Games and our involvement as a major host venue for events in both the Olympics and Paralympics," David Campbell, chief executive of AEG Europe told the London Telegraph.

Additional potential bidders for the stadium will have until May 17th to submit a completed bid and the The Olympic Park Legacy Company is expected to make a final determination in July. Other bidders include Premier League club West Ham United, who are teaming up with the Newham Council to turn the stadium into a 60,000-capacity venue, the Telegraph said. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
