AEG's axs Rollout In San Fran Gets Underway

SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Two San Francisco concert halls, Warfield and Regency Ballroom, are abandoning Ticketmaster in exchange for AEG's axs ticketing services. Coincidentially, both the Regency and Warfield are owned and operated by AEG Live.

axs is a partnership between AEG and Outbox, a ticketing software company helmed by Fred Rosen, formerly the CEO of Ticketmaster from 1982 to 1998. Instead of operating like Ticketmaster's branded retail ticketing website, axs offers a brandable, or 'white label' platform that lets lets venues set their own fees, a portion of which flows to Outbox.

"It’s a more seamless experience for the consumer,” Todd Sims, vice president of digital at AEG told the San Francisco Examiner. "They can transact at The Warfield’s website without going to a middleman."

The first show in San Francisco to be sold through axs will be an Oct. 2nd performance Woody Allen’s New Orleans Jazz Band at the Regency. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
