Beyond Oblivion Joins MySpace In News Corps Digital Music Portfolio

NEW YORK (Hypebot) –
Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. has increased its bet on digital music beyond MySpace Music with an investment in start-up Beyond Oblivion. With a promised launch date of 10.10.10, the bread crumbs that the company is leaving point to a "Comes With Music" like unlimited music offering.

To unveil its service, Beyond Oblivion has announced a Music Liberation European Tour next month complete with a flashy bus. The company unabashedly describes itself as "a radical, highly disruptive music service that combines the stickiness of a social network with unlimited life-of-device access to the largest music library on Earth, within a vast ecosystem where content owners are paid per-play no matter if the original music file was ripped, bootlegged or legally or illegally downloaded (in other words we eradicate music piracy)."

Already Biting The Hand That Feeds Them:
Given their rhetoric and company name, Beyond Oblivion hoes to be the savior of the record industry. Murdoch may be hoping they'll start by saving MySpace who Beyond Oblivion singles out for particular scorn in this teaser video:
