SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Organizers of Australia’s Big Day Out concert have announced that tickets sold out to the country’s largest music festival in record time.
About 42,000 people are expected to attend the annual outdoor festival at Auckland’s Mt. Smart Stadium next Friday.
Promoter Campbell Smith told reporters that he believes a strong international line-up, featuring American superstars The Killers, helped draw the capacity crowd. A total of 70 international and local acts will play at this year’s event.
Smith said the last sell out was in 2004, when headlining act Metallica helped pull more than 40,000 fans to the show. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
