BERLIN, Germany (Hypebot) – When BMG divested themselves of their share of the Sony-BMG record business, they focused on music publishing and the broader entertainment industry. But that changed 18 months ago with the launch of a new record label and label services division.
BMG recording artists Iron Maiden and Scarface have both landed in Top 10 of the US SoundScan albums chart, marking a milestone for the new model music company less than 18 months since their launch in the US. Soon to be released albums from Alabama (18 September) and Janet Jackson (2 October) may expand that winning streak.
Iron Maiden’s The Book Of Souls entered the SoundScan albums chart at number three (number four in the Billboard 200) and with first week sales nearly 20% up on those of their previous album. BMG has worked with the band to create a vinyl reissue campaign, a Mastered for iTunes campaign and an Iron Maiden ‘takeover’ of SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal Channel.
Deeply Rooted is the 12th solo album from Houston rapper and Geto Boy Scarface. It entered the SoundScan albums chart at number eight (number 11 in the Billboard 200).
