Child Porn Charges Against Mark Salling Dismissed Following His Death

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Charges in the child pornography case against the late actor and singer Mark Salling have been dismissed, according to a report in E! News.

Court documents obtained by E! News indicate that a United States District Judge granted the dismissal following a request from the U.S. Attorney’s office. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning that charges can be refiled in the future.

Stalling, who was best known for his role on the Fox musical television drama “Glee” was found dead in a park near his home in Los Angeles on January 30th, in an apparent suicide.

Salling pleaded guilty in December to charges of possessing pornographic material depicting children and had agreed to a prison sentence, followed by 20 years of supervised release, as well as payment of $50,000 in restitution to each of his victims and registration as a sex offender.

He was awaiting sentencing in the case and faced four to seven years behind bars.
