(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Leo Corbett has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of EMI Music Publishing. He will be based in New York and will oversee the financial and technological operations of EMI Music Publishing on a global basis.

Corbett comes to EMI Music Publishing with an established financial services track record, where he held senior positions at Salomon Brothers, Lehman Brothers and the Prudential. Most recently he founded and was managing director of a venture capitol fund at Zephyr Management, which invested in specialized technology applications including rule-based software, business process improvement and data mining.

"Leo's strong strategic and analytical skills as well as his understanding of complex process-focused businesses will be extremely useful in helping us meet the challenges of our changing environment," said Martin Bandier, chairman and CEO.

"We are delighted to have Leo join the already extremely strong worldwide finance group at EMI Music Publishing, led by Joe Puzio," said Roger Faxon, worldwide President and COO. "Leo's background, combined with Joe's background and knowledge and understanding of our business, will make them a formidable team helping us to continue to build on our record of success."

"I'm pleased and honored to be joining the number one music publisher in the world," said Corbett. "The industry has entered an exciting phase of remarkable opportunity, and I look forward to helping EMI Music Publishing leverage the myriad of new formats on behalf of our family of songwriters." –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
