Critical Condition And Concert Cancelled

BERLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A German game show left one contestant in critical condition, and Justin Bieber show-less.

23-year-old contestant Samuel Koch was attempting to jump over a moving car driven by his father while wearing a set of specially modified shoes on the German game show Wetten Dass ("Bet It") according to NBC. However, the suspension system in the shoes failed and Koch was injured after he missed the jump.

The accident occurred during a live taping of the show, which is broadcast to an audience of more than 10 million viewers according to NBC. The TV station canceled the show and also forced the postponement of a concert with Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber, who was set to perform on the show.

Justin tweeted his sympathies, "Just want to let my people in Germany know I won't be on Wetten Dass tonight as an accident has taken place and…we all don't think it is right to continue. Please pray for Samuel Koch & his family as we wait and hope for his health and safety…Germany I'm sorry we couldn't perform tonight but some things are more important than putting on a show. We will be back I promise. Thank u."

Koch sustained multiple back injuries and fractures and had to undergo surgery on December 4. His condition was described as life-threatening according to NBC.
