Dead Add More Tour Due To Demand

SHERMAN OAKS, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) –Due to overwhelming demand, ‘the DEAD’ have confirmed the addition of three dates to their 2009 tour, which kicks off April 12 in Greensboro, NC. Newly added shows include second nights in Chicago (May 4) and Mountain View, CA (May 14)–on sale February 20 and 22, respectively–plus a show in George, WA at The Gorge May 16, on sale February 20.

This marks the Dead’s first concert trek since 2004’s “Wave That Flag” tour, and all the gigs will be performed “An Evening With:” marathon, two-set shows, with no opening act.

Original Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart will be joined by keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and Allman Brothers Band/Gov’t Mule guitarist Warren Haynes, both of whom played with the band in October 2008 at the “Change Rocks” concert/rally for Barack Obama in State College, PA. The group first formed with lead guitarist Jerry Garcia as the Grateful Dead in 1965 and are legendary for their live performances. The Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group always toured relentlessly, allowing their “Dead Head” fans to tape and trade their exploratory, free-flowing concerts.
