(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Sony BMG Music Entertainment Asia president Richard Denekamp has parted ways with the Hong Kong-based company. Denekamp was put into the position to oversee the Sony BMG operations in Asia in a management reshuffle last September.
Denekamp is the second executive from Sony BMG’s upper echelon to leave the company in the recent past. Sony BMG Music Entertainment COO Michael Smellie is expected to leave the music giant before the end of the year, according to Billboard.
Prior to his role as president of Sony BMG Asia, Denekamp was president, Asia, for Sony Music International. In addition to that role, he was named as chairman of the Asia Pacific regional board of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry in January 2004.
Reasons for Denekamp’s departure were not given. Kelvin Wadsworth, senior VP of finance and CFO for the Asia region, will assume Denekamp’s duties on an interim basis. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
