The Los Angeles Dodgers and Ticketmaster have completed a comprehensive ticketing agreement whereby the Dodgers will implement Ticketmaster's state-of-the-art ticketing technology to enrich the Dodgers brand and fan experience and enhance the value and ease of single game and season ticket packages.
"First-rate guest services are vital to our organization and we're extremely eager to implement Ticketmaster's ticketing system," said Marty Greenspun, COO, Los Angeles Dodgers. "They offer the best technology to support our back-end infrastructure and the front-end services to bring our ticketing and customer relationship management to a superior level. Ticketmaster's fan-friendly, full-service ticketing and event marketing system will greatly streamline every aspect of our box office and ticketing operations. We reviewed many options for event ticketing and Ticketmaster clearly offers the comprehensive suite of products and services to meet our needs."
"The future of ticketing is the Internet, and this agreement opens new doors for our fans in terms of simplicity and instant access," Greenspun said. "Between our dodgers.com site, our new phone number, and the vast network of Ticketmaster outlets across Southern California, our fans have the most accessible options possible for all of their ticketing needs, whether it be spring training games, individual game seats, season tickets or any of our nine mini-plans."
As part of the agreement, the Dodgers will be installing Ticketmaster's Archticsticketing platform, which supports the entry control system, AccessManager. By enabling Dodger Stadium to monitor entry traffic and validate tickets in real-time, AccessManager expedites replacement of lost tickets, eliminates wrong-day event tickets, and authenticates admissions into the stadium.
Ticketmaster will also provide the Dodgers with local and national marketing distribution initiatives along with new and enhanced ticketing services including:
AccountManager: Creates a powerful online gateway for season ticket holders to manage their accounts and tickets through the Dodger's official web site, www.dodgers.com. AccountManager provides a more rewarding season ticket experience by enabling subscribers to update account information, receive personalized notifications from the team and sell or email their season tickets to others using the ticketFast, Ticket Forwarding and TeamExchange technologies.
Ticket Forwarding: Allows Dodgers season ticket holders to maximize the value of their season package and the use of their tickets by forwarding tickets they are unable to use to family, friends or clients electronically. Once the tickets have been forwarded through email, the recipient simply downloads and prints the tickets using Ticketmaster's ticketFast technology.
ticketFast: Enables friends, family, or clients who receive forwarded Dodgers tickets the ability to download and print their tickets at the click of a mouse. This added convenience saves fans the time and trouble of waiting for tickets to arrive through the mail or going to the box office to retrieve tickets at Will Call. ticketFast features Ticketmaster's barcode technology, enabling the Dodgers to authenticate admission into the stadium.
TeamExchange: Creates a safe, secure, online marketplace at dodgers.com for season ticket holders to sell tickets they are unable to use. Fans purchasing tickets through the Dodgers' TeamExchange marketplace will receive tickets by email via ticketFast, complete with a new and unique barcode for entry. The season ticket holder's original tickets will be cancelled and invalidated and the team will credit the season ticket holder's account. Utilizing Ticketmaster's TeamExchange product, the Dodgers are able to ensure an authenticated electronic transaction between season ticket holders and fans.
In addition to event tickets, the Dodgers will also offer fans the opportunity to purchase advance parking through Ticketmaster. In coming months, Dodgers Stadium will deploy Ticketmaster's AccessManager entry control system throughout its parking grounds to manage fiscal accounting and the process of accommodating arrivals and parking for single family vehicles that visit the Stadium for home games. Parking attendants will then be able to use Ticketmaster wireless barcode scanning devices at lot entrances to validate tickets and vehicle entry.
"Ticketmaster prides itself in providing superior service and cutting-edge technology to help drive our client's overall business," said John Pleasants, president and CEO, Ticketmaster. "Having participated in this competitive process and coming out on top speaks volumes about our ability. We have better products, better technology, and better services to help the Dodgers sell more tickets."
"By adopting Ticketmaster's products and enhanced ticketing distribution system, the Dodgers are embracing the future of online integrated ticketing and marketing solutions," said Cathy Felling, EVP Western Region, Ticketmaster. "Our automated ticketing system will help the team provide the level of customer service fans deserve, giving season ticket holders unparalleled access and control of their tickets, along with the freedom to make the most of their investment." –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
