NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Music streaming service Spotify announced that Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was the year's most streamed artist, earning more than 860 million listens on Spotify.
Sheeran's numbers were driven by his most recent album "X" which was streamed 430 million times worldwide, while Pharrell's "Happy" was the most streamed song of the year worldwide.
Katy Perry took the top streaming spot for female artists and Coldplay took the honors for top streamed group globally.
In the U.S., rapper Eminem was the most streamed artist while Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" was the most streamed track for 2014.
Honorable mentions include Calvin Harris, Avicii and David Guetta globally, and Drake, Kanye and Landa Del Rey in the U.S. – Staff Writers
