EDMONTON, Alberta (CelebrityAccess) — After an eight-year run, Edmonton's alt-rock themed Sonic Boom festival is calling it quits.
The festival, promoted by Live Nation and local radio station SONiC 102.9, did not offer a reason for their decision to pull the plug on the festival except that it was time to "explore some ideas."
"Thanks for your support along the way. BOOM kept coming back because you kept coming back, blisters and all (remember the pavement at Northlands?). Anyway, thank you. We appreciate your support more than we can articulate," organizers said in a post announcing the cancellation on the event's Facebook page.
First launched in 2009, the festival has provided a stage for performers such as Jack White, Linkin Park, The Lumineers, Twenty One Pilots, Blink 182, and Arctic Monkeys. – Staff Writers
