BUDVA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A July 9th Rolling Stones show scheduled for Jaze Beach in Budva is causing "concert euphoria" amongst music fans and entrepreneurs both.
According to a report in Montenegrin newspaper Vijesti, the concert is expected to be a financial windfall of epic proportions for the small coastal community.
First there are the ticket sales – with 73,000 seats of which 3,000 are in the VIP section, promoters are hoping to net $6.7 million directly with an additional $30 million in sponsorship deals and other ancillary revenue streams.
Of course, The Stones don't come cheap. The guarantee for the band's Montenegro appearance is reported to be a cool $3.5 million. Add to that the massive cost of staging the event — everything from the construction of the VIP stands, battery trucks for emergency power, dozens of newly installed telephone lines and dedicated INTERNET connections and the hiring of over 3,000 security guards to protect the band, some 200 crew and the 68 trucks of equipment The Stones are bringing with them.
The idea of bringing The Stones to Budva didn't always have such enthusiastic support, causing some initial consternation for Montenegrin president Svetozar Marovic but the promise of financial windfall and the heightened international awareness of the small nation, it looks like smooths sailing ahead. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
