AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Indie rockers Explosions In The Sky have cancelled all of their upcoming spring and summer tour dates, just one week before the band was set to launch a UK and European tour.
The Austin-based instrumentalists were to start their tour on May 20 at All Tomorrow’s Parties in Somerset, and continue through the spring and summer with dates in London, Stockholm, Barcelona and several other cities through July 29.
The band posted a message on their website, explaining that the cancellation was due to a “serious family illness.”
“We have had to cancel all of our remaining summer show (all shows scheduled for May, July, and August). We’re facing a serious illness in one of our families and traveling around the world and playing shows is just not an option for us at the moment.”
They continued: “We are truly sorry about this. We’ll try and keep in touch about when any of these shows might be made up or when we might be touring again.”
The band also stated that they intend to reschedule all dates for some time in the fall. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
