Global Spectrum Gets Four Year Extension At Harborview Center

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

The City of Clearwater has approved a four-year extension of Global Spectrum's management contract to operate the Harborview Center convention, exposition and meeting facility in Clearwater, FL through September 30, 2009. Global Spectrum will continue to be responsible for managing, scheduling, booking and operating the facility as it has since the facility opened on January 22, 1996.

"Global Spectrum's on-site staff and the support of their corporate office continues to provide excellent service and leadership to maximize the operations for our beautiful convention center on the Clearwater waterfront," said Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard. "We're very pleased with Global Spectrum and we're happy to have them continue managing our facility for four more years."

Under the local leadership of Global Spectrum's on site General Manager Isabelle Blainey, the Harborview Center hosted 330 events from October 1, 2004-September 30, 2005. The facility generated a profit of $60,000 which was immediately reinvested into the facility for new equipment and repairs, including classroom-style tables, kitchen and banquet equipment, and new kitchen appliances.

"Isabelle and her dedicated staff have done a wonderful job in a highly competitive environment and the Harborview Center continues to make a significant economic impact on the City of Clearwater," added Sauers. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
