NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — ICM has announced the acqusition of Robin Taylor's booking agency, Inland Empire Touring (IET). The New York-based agency has a solid roster of major indie acts, including The Shins, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, The Hold Steady, Wolf Parade and !!! (check, check, check). IET also has a strong comedy roster that includes Eugene Mirman, Andy Kindler, Hannibal Buress and God's Pottery.
Taylor founded IET in 1998 and in the past decade, has grown the agency to rep more than forty indie rock acts as well as comedians. Taylor comes from the concert promoter side of the business, having gotten her start in the 1990s Seattle Scene and then later booking national tours for rock acts such as Seven Year Bitch, Sicko, The Gits, Jessamin and California's Jawbreaker.
Taylor, along with Daniel Traci and Joe Price will be working out of ICM's New York office, reporting to Marsha Vlasic, who heads up ICM's contemporary rock division starting April 20th.
ICM has been making moves in the rock world in recent months and also acquired Marsha Vlasic's agency, M.V.O., which brought a veritable who's who of major artists including Neil Young, Moby, The Strokes, Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Muse, Ozzy Osbourne, Regina Spektor and others to the agency. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
