Injury Forces The Sadies To Postpone Dates

EDMONTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Toronto-based indie rock outfit The Sadies have been forced to postpone all remaining dates on their Western Canadian leg of their current tour after the band's frontman was hospitalized after severely breaking his leg. Sadies Singer-guitarist Dallas Good had been on his way to dinner before a scheduled show in Saskatoon when he reportedly slipped on some ice, leaving him with a compound leg fracture that required surgery to treat.

The 3 uninjured Sadies went on to perform their show at the Broadway Theatre, sans singer – and the band has promised to do a makeup show for Saskatoon fans which will include all four members of the band. According to the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, concert-goers were told to hold on to their ticket stubs for the yet-to-be-scheduled makeup date.

"At first I think people were like ‘Well, this is a little different.’ But in the end everyone was yelling for an encore," Bonney Walters, box office manager at the theatre told the Star-Phoenix.

The affected dates included the February 15 show at the Geomatic Attic in Lethbridge; the Feb. 16 Knox United Church show in Calgary; the Feb. 18th Vogue Theatre date in Vancouver and the Feb. 19 show at the Garibaldi Lift Company in Whistler. The band has since announced that they plan to reschedule the affected dates for June, 2011.
