Kay Yeager Coliseum To Get Acoustic Upgrade

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The 10,000-seat Kay Yeager Coliseum at the MPEC Center in Wichita Falls, Texas, will begin a $358,000 acoustic renovation in July. The construction is expected to be completed within six weeks.

Pay-Less Insulation of Houston will be applying a spray-on insulation to improve the sound quality by covering the hard walls and ceiling with a softer, spongy surface to help absorb noise. Currently, there are complaints at nearly all events of terrible echoes and drowned out sound.

"You'll see an immediate improvement," MPEC director Bob Sullivan told the Times Record News. "It takes the hard surface of the concrete wall and changes the surface so it's more of a sponge. It will absorb the sound instead of bouncing it back.

"It's going to be 100 percent better than it was." –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
