WILLAMETTE, OR (CelebrityAccess) — Promoter Live Nation is preparing to open a new live music venue in Portland.
According to a liquor license application filed with the OLCC, and obtained by the Willamette Voice, the new venue will be located inside of the Lloyd Center, a shopping mall and will be situated a retail space formerly occupied by a Nordstrom, which closed in 2015.
Lloyd Center general manager Bob Dye told the Voice that the venue is tentatively scheduled to open in early 2020, pending licensing approvals.
While a name for the venue has not been announced, the permit identifies the property as "Rose City Music Hall" with the LLC name indicating that it may be operated under Live Nation's House of Blues Entertainment.
The mall itself is currently slated to undergo extensive renovations, with a refurb of part of the complex's exterior and the addition of a new 14-screen cinema, the Voice said.
