Jim Lucas has been named Executive Vice President/General Manager, Sony BMG Music Entertainment Sales. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of Sony BMG's sales operations, including management of the branch operations, sales, field marketing and support services. He will be based at the company's headquarters in New York.
"Jim has made tremendous contributions to our sales operations and brings to his new role impressive experience and expert knowledge of the retail landscape," said Bill Frohlich co-chairman Sony BMG Music Entertainment Sales Enterprise. Lucas most recently served as senior vice president, National Sales/Marketing for Sony BMG Music Entertainment Sales since 2004. Prior to that he served as vice president, Sales, for Sony Music Distribution. A nearly 30-year veteran of the company, he began his career as an inventory specialist at CBS Records and went on to hold a number of positions of increasing responsibility including sales manager for the Boston branch office, branch manager for the North Central region and vice president, Eastern Region. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
