HAVERHILL, MA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The LOUDFEST ’07 heavy metal music festival, which took place Saturday, August 18, at the Haverhill Stadium in Massachusetts, showed a soft side for 45 minutes: pausing for a wedding ceremony taking place across the street.
Between 5:30 and 6:15, the metalfest with a theme of “making your eyes and ears bleed music,” unplugged the guitars and instead handed out souvenirs and prizes during the lull. Promoter Peter Palermo decided to stop the music after a request from Rev. Keith LeBlanc of the St. John the Baptist Church, wanting the music festival to be a good neighbor.
“It’s just goodwill and good business,” Palermo told the Eagle-Tribune. “It’s always better to make friends with your neighbors.”
Palermo has expressed interest in returning to the venue next year, and plans to hold many other events at the facility as well.
