SEATTLE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Mike Thrasher has signed on as the exclusive promoter for the popular Seattle club El Corazon. Mike will handle the lion's share of bookings at the club, with some augmentation to the schedule by the club's owner Dana Sims.
"Dana and I have worked closely together over the last several years. We share a similar vision for the room and found that we worked well together." Thrasher told CelebrityAccess "I had been looking for a venue to use as a home base in Seattle for some time; Dana had been looking for a strong promoter to help him push the boundaries of his room. My Seattle office is in the same building as the club and things grew organically from there."
The El Corazon is a major fixture in Seattle's indie rock/punk scene that caters to both the all ages and over 21 crowd.
"I want to establish El Corazon as the primary destination for mid-sized concerts in Seattle. I want to uphold and contribute to the reputation the venue has garnered as a high quality room for touring acts and customers alike. In terms of demographic, the venue has a unique opportunity to cater to a broad range of music fans. With a bar and an all ages section within clear view of the stage, it's a natural fit for touring bands with a strong underage draw as well as acts that have an older fan base. The room has a long history of all ages shows with punk, metal, emo, pop and pop punk bands. Although I want to expand on the types of shows the room hosts, staying true to its roots is also very important. Recent shows with Bad Religion, Hellyeah, Down and Puddle Of Mudd show a continuance of the club's punk and metal roots while we tread further into other genres." Thrasher added.
The club's got a busy fall schedule and some of the upcoming shows at the venue include The Sisters Of Mercy, All Time Low, Ohgr, Legendary Pink Dots, Cobra Starship, Copeland, and Fishbone. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
