LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian rockers Nickelback were forced to cancel all remaining dates of the second leg of the 2015 No Fixed Address North American tour due to lead vocalist Chad Kroeger being diagnosed with an operable cyst on his larynx.
Kroeger will undergo surgery in 3 weeks followed by a period of doctor-ordered vocal rest. The band had initially canceled a handful of dates over the weekend, hoping that a checkup and additional rest would allow them to perform, but an unfortunate diagnosis from Kroeger’s doctor revealed a more serious scenario.
"I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans," Chad Kroeger said in a press statement. “I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."
Nickelback had 34 dates scheduled between June 23rd and Nov. 21st. A rep for the band said they anticipate returning to North America in 2016. – Staff Writers
