Now Those Are Expensive Tickets

EAST HAMPTON, NY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A new summer concert series, dubbed Social is being planned for the Hamptons this summer. Tickets to the outdoor performances by big name artists will include luxurious private lounges, catered meals and personal staff to attend to your needs. How much for a pass to this sumptuary entertainment extravaganza one might ask — A cool 15,000 dollars.

The price might seem a little steep but Bulldog Island Events promoter Joe Meli told The Wall Street Journal that the cost is in line with secondary market sales. He noted that online ticket resale site StubHub had offered 2 front row tickets to Elton John's 60th' birthday bash at MSG for $11,000. Meli said some of the tickets had sold already but he declined to comment on just how many.

The lineup for the series starts off with Prince (he's been making the rounds) on July 14th, Dave Matthews on July 28th, Billy Joel on August 4th, James Taylor on August 11th and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on August 25th.

If the Hamptons experiment is successful, there are plans to take the idea global, with similar concerts staged in Miami, Los Angeles, Dubai, Paris, Saint-Tropez, London and Tokyo. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
