‘One Tree Hill’ Blends TV With Tour

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Employing the idea of “lifestyle marketing” to its fullest extent, the WB Network’s drama “One Tree Hill” will come to life with an upcoming concert tour.

In the season finale of the show, Haley, played by Bethany Joy Lenz, leaves her husband to go on tour with real-life musicians who have guest appeared on the show, and live out her musical aspirations.

Outside of the show, Lenz is going to actually tour with musician Tyler Hilton, who plays Chris Keller on the show, Gavin DeGraw, who scored a hit by writing the theme song to the show, and the Wreckers, a group made up of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp, who have recorded music for the show. All artists on the tour have been featured on the soundtrack, “Music From The WB Television Series ‘One Tree Hill,’” released by Maverick Records. The tour will hit 23 North American cities as an extension of the show.

"Being able to parallel the lives of the characters with this tour will be a great bonus for the fans who have made “One Tree Hill” one of the fastest-growing shows on television this season," said “One Tree Hill” Executive Producer Joe Davola. “Music is such an integral part of this show that this is truly the best of both worlds. I'm glad we can bring Tree Hill to everybody's hometown this year.”

William Morris Agency's Keith Sarkisian booked the show into large clubs, making sure to choose all-age venues to accomodate the shows younger fanbase. Shows have been selling out extremely quickly, often in under an hour.

Maverick Records marketing director David Grant has been doing promotion for the tour, focusing on radio, print ads, promotions with WB affiliates, and tapping online fansites to spread the word.
