(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Oregon State Fair and Expo Center celebrates the opening of their newest multi-use building – The Pavilion!
Officials at the Oregon State Fairgrounds and Expo Center say their new building, called the Pavilion, fills a need in the community that will not only bring more revenue to the publicly-owned fairgrounds, but also adds to the economic impact on the Mid-Willamette Valley.
The Pavilion wasn't just a random $10 million idea that state officials came up with to augment the fairgrounds. After two years of planning, research and design, a bipartisan committee approved the building that would be a feature in which the entire state could be proud.
"They researched the exposition industry and a multi-purpose pavilion had the most market potential,” said Lin Wolfe, director of marketing and sales for the Oregon State Fair and Expo Center. “While there will be a convention center in downtown Salem, the Pavilion complements that center by offering different types of events. We wanted to ensure the Pavilion didn’t compete with other regional venues and did not cannibalize current fairground facilities.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
