Philly Fillmore On Track For October Debut

PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation's House of Blues is preparing for the planned October opening of the Philadelphia outlet of its storied Fillmore venue chain.

While construction is still underway at the venue, located in the former Ajax Metal Company factory at Frankford and Delaware avenues, The Fillmore Philly is scheduled to open its doors on October 1st for an inaugural performance by Hall & Oates.

According to the Philadelphia Voice, who got a guided tour of the new venue, the Fillmore's main hall will have a capacity of 2,500, with an upper mezzanine lined with VIP boxes.

The new Fillmore also includes a separate 450-capacity room dubbed The Foundry, which will provide a more intimate space for performers, as well as serving as a VIP lounge with full food service when a performance is not scheduled.

The venue's new box office will also serve as a central box office for all of Live Nation's venues in Philadelphia.

Other upcoming shows on the calendar for the new Fillmore include Brandi Carlisle, Joe Walsh, Have Mercy, and Disclosure. – Staff Writers
