President Of L.A. Recreation And Parks Commission Resigns

On the heels of another deadlock vote concerning who will operate the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles – House of Blues Concerts or Nederlander – mayoral candidate Steve Soboroff resigned as president of the city's Recreation and Parks Commission, opening the door for Mayor Riordan to replace him with someone who would cast the tiebreaking vote.

In its RFP the House of Blues projected the city would get $23.5 million vs. the proposed $18.5 million by the Nederlanders during the course of the 10-year contract.

House of Blues also proposed $11.1 million in building improvements vs. $5.5 million offered by the Nederlanders.
