Rascals International, Inc. has signed a lease to open a comedy club in the Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It will be the fifth club in the Rascals "chain", all of which is company owned and will seat over 350 guests per show with an opening scheduled for July.
Ed Rodriguez, Rascals chairman, and CEO said: "Rascals at Resorts Hotel and Casino is just another building block in our growth plan to solidify Rascals position as the #1 comedy venue in the United States. With four locations we anticipate at least two more additional clubs this year. Our projections call for ten clubs by the end of 2004."
"Up until this Resorts signing, our clubs were either suburban stand alone entities, or within a major brand hotel such as the Crown Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona and the Hilton in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The Resorts Hotel and Casino deal presents a concrete opportunity to garner the entertainment dollar from millions of visitors of this vacation destination. Initially we'll have shows Wednesday through Sunday, with two to three shows on Friday and Saturday nights."
Rascals International operates a chain of comedy clubs, including its flagship club in West Orange, NJ, as well as in Ocean Township, NJ, in downtown Phoenix, Az at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and at the Hilton Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Company also owns an audio/video library of nearly 200 hours of top name comedians. Corporate offices are headquartered in West Orange, NJ.
