Roc Nation Sued By Prince's Record Label

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (CelebrityAccess) — Prince's record label has reportedly sued Jay Z's Roc Nation, claiming that the fallen rock icon's music is being illegally streamed on Jay Z's Tidal music service.

According to court filings obtained by TMZ, NPG Records is claiming copyright infringment over the alleged streaming of hits such as If I Was Your Girlfriend and 1999 on Tidal.

While Tidal was authorized to stream some of Prince's catalog, it expanded its offerings around the time of Prince's death in June without approval from Prince's estate, the suit claims.

Roc Nation was not immediately available for comment on the lawsuit, which seeks undisclosed damages. – Staff Writers
