CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Veteran music promoter Ron Platzer has joined Chicago-based Special Events Management as an Event Manager. Platzer will oversee logistics for several of the company’s events, including live concerts.
SEM is the Midwest’s largest full-service producer of specials events.
Prior to joining Special Events Management, Platzer spent more than six years with Chicago-based music promotion company Jeff McClusky & Associations as Director of Alternative and Rock promotion and Director of Services. During that time he coordinated more than 200 radio-sponsored concert events around the country including some of the biggest names in popular music.
“I formed a relationship with the company several years ago, when on behalf of JMA, I assisted Q101 in booking artists for their ‘Block Party’ event and tied it in with existing SEM events,” Platzer told CelebrityAccess. “I have searched for an opportunity to join a company that would allow me to utilize my experience in event production, talent-buying, and relationships with agents, managers, and artists. It became obvious after only a couple of meetings that Special Events Management would be both professionally challenging and rewarding.”
