ROSKILDE, Denmark (VIP-NEWS) — Roskilde Festival 2016 resulted in a profit of DKK 17.4 million (EUR 2.4 million). All proceeds will now be donated to charitable and cultural initiatives.
Roskilde Festival 2016 was totally sold out: 100,000 guests bought a ticket for last year`s edition, joining the 30,000 indispensable volunteers for a festive week of music, art and a unique sense of community.
Organisations such as Amnesty International, Africa Express, Everyday Sexism, Red Cross and Kompis Sverige are among the recipients of Roskilde Festival`s profits from 2016.
Additionally, the participating organisations, companies and societies enjoyed another strong year, earning DKK 20.4 million (EUR 2.74 million). They are behind the many bars, shops and stalls around the festival. With the help of volunteers, more than 200 organisations, societies and companies generated their profit.
Roskilde Festival has always been a non-profit organization.
