ScoreBig Launches In Beta With More Than Half A Million Tickets Available

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — ScoreBig , a new members-only site offering fans of live events huge savings on thousands of sports, concert, and theater events nationwide, officially launched its beta site this week. Membership is free but by invitation only. Consumers invited to join the site can save up to 70 percent off retail ticket prices all with no fees and free delivery.

ScoreBig provides consumers an entirely new way to discover and more affordably attend live events. Members can choose from thousands of events, select a seat rating (from one to five stars) and make an offer of what they are willing to pay. The members learn instantly if their offer was accepted or rejected. Every ticket offered by ScoreBig is below retail price and all tickets and savings are guaranteed.

ScoreBig was founded and is led by Adam Kanner, former National Basketball Association executive, and Joel Milne, founder of SeasonTicket.com. The Company helps venue owners, sports teams, producers, and promoters sell unsold ticket inventory without the cannibalization risks and negative brand perceptions associated with traditional discounting.

“Our goal is to help reduce the cost of attending live events for the large number of consumers that have been priced out of seeing their favorite teams, artists, and shows,” said Kanner. “At the same time, we’re helping solve our partners’ biggest challenge by filling seats and attracting more fans, which improves the experience for all involved.”

As part of the Company’s beta launch, ScoreBig is inviting a limited number of consumers nationwide to become members. Those interested in receiving an invitation to join ScoreBig can sign up on the Company’s waitlist at www.ScoreBig.com ,
This beta launch comes nearly a year and a half after the company was founded. In that time ScoreBig has dedicated substantial resources to infrastructure and technology development, as well as building a team of talent that includes top executives from the NBA, the NFL, Ticketmaster and AEG Live.

“Adam and his team have done an incredible job in creating a thoughtful solution to a problem that has vexed the live event business for years, making brand and price protection a priority while still keeping the power in the hands of the consumer,” says Jeffrey Glass, who joined ScoreBig Board following Bain Capital Ventures’ investment. “In any other retail business there are mechanisms in place for prices to be adjusted when supply outstrips demand. Now, thanks to the technological expertise and industry experience of the ScoreBig team, the same is true for live events.”

The two co-founders and their executive team have a wealth of experience within ticketing, sports, e-commerce and digital marketing. Kanner, the CEO, is a serial digital and affinity marketing entrepreneur who previously served as vice president of relationship marketing and business development for the NBA. Milne, the COO and CTO, sold his previous ticketing venture in 2003 after building a customer base of more than 50 professional sports teams.

ScoreBig is privately held and has raised $8.5 million in funding to date, with Bain Capital Ventures leading the Company’s Series A round of funding. ScoreBig advisors and individual investors include Gideon Yu, former Facebook and YouTube chief financial officer; Shari Redstone, vice chair of CBS and Viacom; Michael Bronner, founder and former chief executive of Digitas; and Finn Wentworth, founder of YES Networks and former president and chief operating officer of YankeeNets. The Company has over 40 employees, is headquartered in Los Angeles, and has an office in New York. – Melissa Kohn
