The Battle Of The Band

TORONTO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A rep for the band Aerosmith is denying reports by TMZ that Joe Perry intentionally pushed his band-mate Steve Tyler off stage during a recent concert in Toronto, saying that the incident was just a mishap.

TMZ however, has a video which first shows Tyler jostling Perry during the performance and then moving to the opposite end of the stage. The video then shows Perry moving behind Tyler and giving the band's frontman a hip check, upsetting Tyler's balance and knocking him off stage, into the crowd.

Perry even helps Tyler back up on stage, but seem surprised when Tyler swings him around afterwards.

While the video appears to leave little doubt that the bump was intentional, whether Perry meant to actually de-stage Tyler remains unclear and is, in fact, refuted by the band's spokesman.

"Joe wanted his fans to know he would never deliberately push Steven off the stage. (Joe is a) total gentleman." the unnamed spokesman told TMZ.com.

The two performers have had a contentious relationship in the past, particular in the last year when the band was on hiatus while Tyler recovered from injuries sustained in another fall from stage, and Perry threatened to actively seek a replacement for Tyler.
