NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (CelebrityAccess) — The State Theatre in New Brunswick will be hosting a memorial service in memory of former State Theatre President & CEO Mark W. Jones on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1pm.
Jones, who served as President & CEO for over three years, passed away in May 2014 after a long battle with cancer. The service is open to the public and will include a program of remembrance, music, and support. The program is to be announced.
Jones joined the State Theatre team in 2011 after spending three years as the executive director of the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Previously, Jones served as the executive director for Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA and spent 12 years as the executive director for the Jose Limon Foundation in New York, and also worked with New York’s Glimmerglass Opera and the Music-Theatre Group.
A native son of New Jersey, Jones was a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville. He received additional education at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, as well as the Harvard University/John F. Kennedy School of Government. – Staff Writers
