(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Kylie Minogue’s manager has announced that the Australian pop star will undergo surgery this week for breast cancer. The 36-year old singer revealed on Tuesday that she had been diagnosed with the disease, and cancelled the remaining dates on her tour.
Her manager, Terry Blamey, said in a statement that “Kylie is currently undergoing tests at a first-class medical facility in preparation for an operation later this week by one of Australia’s leading surgeons.”
Minogue returned to her family’s home in Melbourne following the diagnosis, canceling the Australian and Asian legs of her critically-praised Showgirl tour.
She has been a global pop star for 17 years, having first gained international attention as a television star. She has had 27 top 10 hits in the UK, ranging from her first #1 in 1988, to her present radio hits.
She has helped to raise money for breast cancer causes over recent years, including selling one of her skimpiest stage bras for $4,400 at an auction supporting Breast Cancer Care. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
