Wasson Named Director At Arizona Cardinals Stadium

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Global Spectrum has named Melissa Wasson, CPA, director of Finance & Administration of the new 64,000-seat Arizona Cardinals Stadium, home for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals, scheduled to open in the fall of 2006.

Global Spectrum is handling pre-opening and eventually day-to-day management of the stadium for the stadium’s owner, the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (AZSTA). Global Spectrum will also secure additional events for Cardinals Stadium, including concerts, consumer and trade shows, soccer, motor sports, festivals and other sports, entertainment and popular events.

Wasson, who during her 14-year career in finance administration, has successfully managed the accounting and tax compliance for a 44 million contract manufacturer as well as completed multi-million dollar real estate refinancing projects. She joins Global Spectrum after serving as director of Finance/Administration at APSM Systems since 1994.

In her new role in Glendale, Wasson will work closely with Cardinals Stadium General Manager Peter C. Sullivan on the day-to-day accounting for the facility, including human resources, finance and settlement of events once the facility is opened. Additionally, Wasson will be responsible for hiring the accounting staff, internal audits and risk management.

“Melissa brings our company a tremendous amount of accounting experience from the contract manufacturer sector which will lend itself well to the opening and operation of a new facility,” said Cardinals Stadium General Manager Peter C. Sullivan. “Melissa’s strong finance and CPA experience will help us evaluate and successfully produce additional non-football events for AZSTA at Cardinals Stadium.” –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
