WMA Adds Music Agents To The Board

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — CelebrityAccess has confirmed that The William Morris Agency has added some new blood to their board of directors. Included among the additions are music agents Mark Geiger, David Snyder and Rick Shipp, the first music agents to ever make it onto the board of the agency. According to blogger Nikki Finke, the additions also include Paul Bricault, head of corporate consulting; John Ferriter, head of non-scripted television and Aaron Kaplan, head of scripted television.

The addition of music agents to the board may mark a sea change at the agency, which has in the past been heavily focused on television content. Changing trends in the media landscape have increasingly turned their attention to their strong music division and these additions suggest an increasing reliance on the revenue generated there. WMA's music roster includes a veritable who's who of top-end performers including the likes of Akon, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Rage Against the Machine and numerous others.

Marc Geiger serves as the head of contemporary music for the agency, Rick Shipp is the co-head of WMA's Nashville operation and David Snyder, head of adult contemporary music. All three now hold the title of executive vice president as well. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
