Yoko's 'Icy' Tribute To Lennon

REYKJAVÍK, Iceland (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, revived last year by Yoko and Sean Ono Lennon after a long hiatus, will play an exclusive concert at Háskólabíó, Reykjavík on October 9th.

The concert, which will be dedicated to John Lennon, is one of the events that Yoko Ono will hold to celebrate what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday and promote peace throughout the world.

In its earliest incarnation, Plastic Ono Band featured Ono’s late husband John Lennon, and released “Give Peace a Chance” in 1969.

Forty years later Ono revived the project, releasing Between My Head and the Sky.

Under the musical direction of Sean Ono Lennon, the new Plastic Ono Band includes Japanese musicians Haruomi Hosono (of Yellow Magic Orchestra), Yuka Honda (of Cibo Matto) and Keigo Oyamada, Shimmy Hirotaka Shimizu and Yuko Araki (of Cornelius).

All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to an Icelandic cause yet to be announced, according to the press release.
