HOUSTON, Texas (CelebrityAccess) — American blues rockers ZZ Top have canceled a string of dates at the start of their planned summer tour due to illness.
The band revealed that bassist Dusty Hill needed surgery to remove two kidney stones, with doctors advising him that sooner was better. The surgery is slated to take place later this week with a 2 week recovery to follow.
As a consequence, the band has pulled the plug on planned shows in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
ZZ Top's revised schedule will see the band pick up their tour with Jeff Beck at an August 6th show at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
