Developer Weighs New Rock Club For Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A real estate developer, backed by investment from members of the rock band Live, is considering building a new "House of Blues" style rock club in downtown Allentown.

According to The Morning Call, York-based Think Loud Development is eyeing a parking lot next to PPL Plaza as a location to build a six story building that would include the music, a restaurant and an additional four floors of office space.

The propsective 35,000-square-foot venue would include a "bi-directional" stage, with options for indoor and outdoor seating and shows.

"If they can swing this whole thing, it would be great for Allentown," Candida Affa, a member of the Allentown Parking Authority told The Morning Call. "We need the people to come back to the city to go to venues like this."

Barring complications, the construction for the project would commence as soon as December, 2015 with developers hoping to tap future state and local tax revenue generated by the venue to underwrite construction costs. – Staff Writers
