Vassar Clements Treated For Cancer, Benefit Concert Scheduled

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A concert that was originally supposed to be held as a birthday celebration for fiddle virtuoso Vassar Clements, has been turned into a benefit concert in his honor.

Clements announced on March 11 that he had been stricken with small cell lung cancer, which has recently spread to his liver, and is on chemotherapy. He is currently hospitalized for treatment of the aggressive form of cancer.

The benefit concert, set for April 23 at the Tribeca Rock Club in New York City, has been organized by AMD Entertainment. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 at the door. The impressive list of performers include Levon Helm, Buddy Cage, Tony Triscka, Michael Falzarano, The Zen Tricksters, Bob Harris, Jimmy Fleming, The Electrix, Stir Fried, and JC Flyer, with more to be announced soon. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
