SYDNEY, NSW (CelebrityAccess) — Aussie music publisher Mushroom Music Publishing has pacted with fellow independent, Atlas Music Publishing in a deal that will see them sub-publish and administer for Atlas in the territory of Australia and New Zealand.
Under the new partnership, Mushroom will administer works by Van Halen, Counting Crows and John Legend, as well as songwriters including Alex Vargas, Toby Gad and Coyle Girelli in the market.
Established in 1972, Mushroom Music Publishing is a key part of Michael Gudinski’s Mushroom Group of companies. Mushroom sub-publishes several recognized international music catalogues as well as publishing for domestic songwriters including Vance Joy, Kylie Minogue, Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker), Gordi, DMA’s, Amy Shark and D.D Dumbo.
Atlas, founded by Richard Stumpf in 2013, is positioned as a boutique indie publisher, built around the idea that ‘bigger is not always better.’ Atlas’s client roster includes Counting Crows, Van Halen, Toby Gad, Brian Howes, Dan the Automator, Mike & Keys, Matthew West and Ashley Gorley as well as emerging artists, Alex Vargas, Slothrust, Coyle Girelli, Major Myjah, Totem and others.
