New York, NY (CelebrityAccess) – RCA Records announced that Carolyn Williams has been promoted to the post of Executive Vice President of Marketing at the label. Williams previously served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and will remain in the label’s New York headquarters.
In this expanded role, Williams will be responsible for overseeing the marketing staff as well as continue to lead marketing campaigns for RCA’s roster of artists, including BROCKHAMPTON, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., SZA and more.
As SVP, Marketing, RCA Records, Williams led the label’s urban marketing operation and oversaw campaigns for artists including D’Angelo and Alicia Keys, as well as A$AP Rocky, WizKid, and the soundtracks for HBO’s Insecure.
Prior to her SVP appointment, Williams did a stint at J Records, where she developed “lifestyle” marketing campaigns for the likes of Jazmine Sullivan, Busta Rhymes, Rhymefest, Monica, Mario, Fantasia and more.
Prior to that, she held various positions at Soul Brother Records, Penalty Records, and Tommy Boy Records.
A New York native and a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Williams began her career as an entertainment journalist.
